Located just 2 miles northeast of Denver, Whittier is conveniently located just northeast of Downtown near City Park and Uptown. It is full of Craftsman-style homes, as well as historic Victorian, Queen Anne, Denver Square, and newly built modern residences. Named after John Greenleaf Whittier, an American poet and abolitionist, this neighborhood was founded on a Quaker Faith and progressive ideals. Many museums line the outskirts of the area including the Black American West Museum and the Denver Museum of Miniatures, Dolls, and Toys.
