Located a mile east of Downtown Denver, the City Park neighborhood offers residents city life with some nature. City Park includes the Denver Zoo, Duck Lake, Ferril Lake, and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. There is a huge dog park for pet owners in the city. In the mid-19th century, the neighborhood was a small mining camp that has grown into a rolling landscape within the Denver City limits. Its design was influenced by New York’s Central Park. Paddleboats can be rented during summer days. Light shows can be enjoyed at the Prismatic Fountain in the evenings too as well as free live jazz performances.

City Park has East High School within its neighborhood hosting over 2,300 students from grades 9-12.

Located a few miles outside of downtown, this park is a favorite for anyone who enjoys spending time outside. During the summer months, this 320-acre park hosts a small farmers market along with many team sports such as volleyball, soccer, and kickball. The architecture in this area varies from modern three-story condos to old Victorian-style homes, which reflects its rich history.
