Athmar Park is nestled just Southwest of Central Denver, with Alameda Ave as its North boundary, Federal Blvd to the West, Mississippi to the South and I-25 to the East.
Comprised of mostly single-family ranch-style homes from the 1940s and 1950s, Athmar Park is home to three parks; Huston Lake Park, Clifford Aspgren Park and Vanderbilt Lake Park. According to historical records, “In 1900, the northeast area of the neighborhood was rural and contained celery farms and wheat fields. Several of the original brick country homes still exist…” Athmar Park was also home to Denver’s first-ever McDonalds restaurant, and is home to a branch library, which now has a sculpture from Robert Mangold that formerly called the Denver Art Museum home.
Athmar Park is a great option for anyone wanting to be just a hop, skip and a jump away from it all, while still offering housing at a more affordable price than many neighborhoods in the Metro area.
